On the back of her mind she was not egocentric like Verona, so she was not out to snatch her husband but to find a way to pay him back for his goodness. She was already pregnant and better still if the children in her womb were his blood rather than a hoodlum like Fanla, it was going to make her raise them happily.

Each time Fanla saw her in the market he reminded her,

"When you give birth to my kids, i will come for them. No one can father my children," she wondered who told him about her pregnancy, "And who told you, I can be pregnant for you,"

"If no be me na who?"

It was more of a threat to him, that whatsoever was going to be the outcome of the fruit of her womb, there was nowhere she was going to ever accept Fanla to be called 'father' by her offspring.

Then she was faced with a dilemma and worried he was going to show his ugly face when she was going to give birth and make Mr. Beri to start having doubts.

It was not yet over, the arrogant dude was never going to let her sleep even if she refused him from coming near to her kids. There was someone standing behind him who was stronger and she was her master's wife Verona.

She stood in her grounds and was convinced she was going to use Fanla to make sure her husband didn't adopt Jaila's twins.

The only worry Mr. Beri had, for his wife to find out.

"You know my wife is capable of the worst to get back at me, if she finds out that I am probably the father of Jaila's unborn twins, I am a doomed fellow, big brother,"

"But she is supposed to be happy for your Mistakes. So she wants you to become childless,"

"Banadzem, even the four walls around your house should never hear about this. It is a secret between, you, me and my Housemaid."

"Hmm!" His elder brother who was speaking with him on the phone from the village grumbled, "She is supposed to accept the kids, it was a mistake. One time mistake,"

"Verona, is capable of slaying someone if she finds out I slept with our maid,"

"So what will you do, raise your children and pretend they are not yours,"

"That is the best option, brother,"

"Just find out what will be her reaction if she finds out one day, that those twins are your kids."

"I will indirectly know her reaction. But let's first be sure the maid has a safe delivery. The reason I am doing everything to protect her from my wife's excesses. I will test her and see what her reactions will be if she finds out."

Then he dropped the call and decided to wait for Verona to come back home. He surely had an idea on how to know her reactions if she ever knows of his secret. She returned home from the studio and after having her dinner, the husband was with her on the bed. He cuddled her tenderly and then said,

"My sweet heart, before I wish you sweet dreams, there is a suggestion I want to make,"

"Yes honey,"

"Since you don't want us to adopt Jaila's kids, what if I found a beautiful girl and paid her to bear children for us."

"So you now want to bring in a second wife?"

"No!"

"Hell no,"

"But darling, you know..."

"Know what!" Verona interrupted furiously, if I ever found out that you just cheated on me, with another woman and I have proofs, I will sue you in court and used it to strip you naked and collect more than half of your assets."

"Are you serious,"

"Try and see."
