How could have every guy dumped her after she had repented from her past life because she was said to be a healthy carrier of AIDS but it turned out negative and the only guy who loved her unconditionally became positive. Lola and Simo thought it was surely fate who brought them together and Lola felt bad for thinking she had actually contracted the sickness. But when the doctor explained how it was possible if the man was not wounded during the intercourse. She didn't protect herself but she was not infected. As for Joshua, he had had a few relationships and had slept with two of the girls. He had only two girls he slept with in his entire life but was infected; while Shehri who couldn't even remember all the men she had ever slept with was negative. Life was a lesson itself.

He thought Shehri was going to leave him but she stood by him and the doctor counsel them on how they could be having protected intercourse since it was the man who was infected and when they wanted children they just had to be very gentle and smooth but the moment the guy was going to start taking anti-retrivival drugs it was going to weaken the virus and the chances of her getting it from him were going to be slim. But the hardest issue was how they were going to get married if her family learned of his status.

At first it was very difficult for Joshua's family to accept him to get married to Shehri because of their past. His mom told him, "You can never get married to a sick girl,"

"Mom, she is not sick,"

"I know everything about her past life. I am an African mom and it is my place to find out who my son is getting married to."

He tried convincing his mom that she was not sick but she denied it. He even had to prove to her that his lover was not having any health issues but she denied.

"No one in this family will ever accompany you to go pay her bride price."

Joshua took it on his shoulders and told his mom, "Do you actually know that if I miss getting married to this girl, I will never find a girl who will accept to be my wife,"

"You are well to do my son, you are good looking. Why would every other girl not run after you. You are a good boy."

"You are right, mom, but I am not every other guy. I am not ordinary."

"Ordinary like in what, like who,"

"You cannot understand,"

"Then let me understand."

"It is a secret,"

"A secret between you and that girl. There is nothing you can hide from me. That girl has bewitched you. You will not marry her, I don't want to bury my son,"

"Please mama, you are wrong about her. You might be right about her past, she is a changed person and she is not sick. You are not God or the doctor, mom."

"I said it," she placed her hand on her head and pointed out, "My son has been bewitched."

No matter what he said his mom never accepted. To the extent of which he asked her, "What is Shehri sick of?"

"Don't ask what you already know."

When she couldn't stop her son from continuing with the relationship she went straight to Shehri and confronted her, "If you know what is good for you leave my son alone. It is not in my family that you will bring bad luck. My son will not marry someone that is sick."

"I am supposed to be telling you that mama, or my parents should be telling you that or your son but I love him unconditionally."

But Joshua's mom could not heed to what she said, she only thought like every other mom who knew she was sick of the deadly virus.
